Information and inspiration
Cat Raynor is a visual artist, scenic, and production designer currently based in New York City. Cat quests to find art in the everyday, looking for inspiration in the world around her. As a material artist and painter, Cat's work focuses on the transformation of the mundane, working to transcend conceptions of material through paint and installation. Cat is passionate in telling stories for, about, and by women, and looks to create work with powerful and truthful representation of people of marginalized genders. Cat especially loves creating work about adolescence and the messy teenage and young adult years where we try to find ourselves.
Cat holds a B.A. from Kenyon College with a concentration in Fine Arts and an M.F.A in Set Design from Yale School of Drama.
